We can see here that Airbrasive^® is a successful alternative to removing hard conformal coatings from a printed circuit board. It will remove the coating without affecting the underlying components. Integrated circuits (IC's) can have their identification marking removed permanently by a short blast precisely directed in the area. No damage will occur to the IC using this technique. Removal of corrosion from electric contacts is fast and easy. Spot rust in hard to get to areas can be quickly removed with Airbrasive^® micro blasting.

Semiconductors

All types of operations may be performed on semiconductor materials such as germanium, silicon, gallium and others. Cutting, drilling, cleaning, dicing, beveling, thinning is fast and accurate using Airbrasive^®. Even thin fragile sections can be processed with complete freedom from shock and heat. A high order of precision is obtainable when fixturing nozzles.
